It was a pleasure to attend Briar Close House, in Borrowash, for its summer fayre. I met several of the care home’s residents, and their families – including John and Enid (pictured), who are celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary this week. I hope this was not the last summer fayre at the much-valued home. Briar Close House is at risk of closure by its owner, Derbyshire County Council. That’s why, with Derbyshire’s other MPs, I sent the letter attached to this post to the council.
