đ¨âđĢI was excited to get the opportunity to return to another secondary school, on this occasion I was invited to Ecclesbourne to talk to the sixth form politics students.
What has struck me in my visits to the secondary schools across Mid-Derbyshire is just how switched on and engaged young people are about the future of the country!
The questions these fantastic sixth formers raised were both varied and unexpected. They ranged from what the life of an MP entails, to what Private Member bill I would have proposed if selected from the backbencher ballot, to the role of social media in campaigning.
Their optimism and hope at what this government could do to help them succeed is something that needs to be cherished and nurtured, which I intend to support.
