Derbyshire County Council is consulting on the future of the Ada Belfield Centre – a care home it owns and runs in Belper.

This follows its decision to close several similar services, including Briar Close House in Borrowash.

The new government delivered £600 million extra for adult social care in the recent budget. It also committed to over £20 billion extra for the NHS over the next two years.

Councils have faced huge cuts over the last 14 years, so this new funding goes a long way to putting essential services back on track and delivering for local people.

I know many people would like to see the council work with the NHS to use this money to retain the Ada Belfield Centre as a council-owned and run service.

If you would like your voice to be heard as decisions are taken about the future of the service, please contact the Stakeholder Engagement and Consultation Team on 01629 531307 or email tell.adultcare@derbyshire.gov.uk.

From 10am this morning until midday, Derbyshire County Council have organised a drop-in session about the consultation at the Strutts Community Centre, Belper. You can find out more information here: https://ift.tt/nS1b8Pc

It is essential that people who have a view on this issue engage with the council’s consultation to make their views known.
