I am thrilled that Derbyshire County Council has listened to the residents of Borrowash and Ockbrook, and have announced a full resurfacing of Green Lane in early Spring this year.
Erewash councillor, Greg Maskalick and local resident and campaigner Neil Barnes have worked with me over the summer and autumn to push the County Council on this issue. I am happy that the council has so suddenly responded – it is the residents who will benefit from their decision.
I am pleased that our local authorities are using the £1.6 billion that the new government has allocated for improving road conditions and fixing our potholes.
I will continue to raise this issue with the council to find out a specific timeframe for when Green Lane is going to be resurfaced. I will also follow up on my request for a weight limit to be instituted on this road.
