There are around 5 million unpaid carers in the UK who selflessly care for family, friends, and loved ones.
It is vitally important that elected representatives and those in government are aware of the challenges that carers face, and what we can do to support them.
That is why I am hosting a Carers’ Listening Event on Saturday 17th May in conjunction with Derbyshire All Age Carers Support Service.
This will give me the opportunity to hear carers’ stories, better understand how we can support them, and also how the government can take their views into account as we try to transform social care.
